Some of the most important steps we can take to create economic opportunity and grow jobs are through grants and federal funding for projects and programs.

These resources are the keys that open the doors of opportunity. They remove roadblocks and create the building blocks for the future. I support the funding of projects like water system improvements and health care programs. I would also support funding small business loan programs and industrial park developments that directly lead to new jobs.

Building and improving our roads are crucial to promoting economic development and creating new jobs. I support the Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (TEA LU), co-sponsored by Congressman Evans. I like Congressman Evans realize that TEA LU will provide billions of dollars to improve and build new highways, bridges, and transit systems. As well it will create thousands of new jobs in construction and related industries.

We must continue to build cooperative efforts and reach out to every part of the community and area to identify needs and strengthen our abilities to gain new resources. I will build on the strides we have made to move our area forward.
