Rock Island, IL.—Phil Hare, the Democratic candidate for Congress in the 17^th District will formally receive two major endorsements on Wednesday.  The Alliance for Retired Americans (ARA), a national organization representing 3 million retires (over 200,000 in Illinois) has endorsed Hare because of his stand on issues concerning older Americans. 

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) of the United States (PAC), representing 2.4 million VFW members, has endorsed Hare.  Hare will participate in a press conference with local VFW leaders on Wednesday.
